Our recent stay at Saltmoore was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning location right by Sandsend Beach, offering breathtaking views that made every morning feel special. The food was absolutely incredible—every dish was crafted from locally sourced produce, and you could truly taste the quality and freshness in every bite. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the dining experience was flawless. The amenities were equally impressive. The gym, spa, and cryotherapy facilities were top-notch, providing the perfect mix of relaxation and wellness. The hotel’s modern décor and beautifully maintained estate grounds added to the overall luxurious feel. Traveling with my pregnant wife, comfort was a top priority, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Plus, being a dog-friendly hotel was a huge bonus, making it an ideal getaway for the whole family. We can’t recommend Saltmoore enough—whether you're looking for relaxation, fine dining, or a luxury escape by the sea, this place has it all. We’ll definitely be back!

Had a great stay at Saltmoore. The location by Sandsend Beach is beautiful, and the estate grounds are really well kept. The food was fantastic—fresh, local ingredients and really well prepared. It’s also super dog-friendly, which made our trip even better. The gym is better equipped than most commercial gyms which was a nice surprise and I got to try cryotherapy for the first time too! Looking forward to staying again!

Stayed between Christmas and New Year 2024. We were excited to go as it’s been closed for refurb for so long. Perfect location for Beach walks., and visiting the east coast. Very quiet, peaceful location with some fabulous views. The spa has most things you would expect but important to book prior to guarantee access. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We ate in the Brasserie which I have to say is nothing special, hopefully, the restaurant opening in spring will be as promised. The cooked breakfast was excellent lots to choose from but the buffet was basic to be fair. Lots of work going on leading up to the carpark but didn’t impacted main building. Love staying in the area.

This place radiates tranquility and modern elegance. The staff are wonderfully welcoming, and the thoughtful extra treats we received truly elevated our stay. I especially appreciated the small added touches in the room. The dinners were exceptional, and the breakfast room was both charming and inviting. The spa is an absolute must-visit. I’m already looking forward to returning and wholeheartedly recommend it to others.

Amazing food, they were really accommodating to vegans and supply a whole menu instead of a single option. Lovely location next to the coast. Great spa facilities. Staff are lovely and attentive to your needs. Really enjoyed our stay!

My sister and I had our spa day finally yesterday. The staff were lovely and very helpful but there were issues. My dressing gown had makeup on it. I don’t wear makeup One of the cups had a chip in it and there was only one steak sandwich left so we had to share. I expected things to be perfect for the prices they charge

Much to like about this newly refurbished hotel, but not worth $615 a night! Classic room, not the smallest available, was only just big enough for the bed. Motel-grade electric switches had been taped off to reduce glare. Heating reset 3 hours after being turned down, so we slept with patio doors open in December! Great bistro menu, but enthusiastic young servers could use an experienced maitre d'. Beautiful spa.

Excellent stay from start to finish! Greeted by friendly staff at check in with a complimentary glass of sparkling tea. Very personable asking us what we have planned during our time here. Offered a tour of the facility and asked if we needed help with bags up to the room. The room was lovely and modern with a comfortable bed and amazing looking bathroom with walk in shower. The heated floors were a nice touch. Free amenities and proper coffee too! The spa is great with a decent pool (not too cold), jacuzzi, steam, room and sauna and also a cold plunge (Brass Monkey so top quality). the lounges are extremely comfy. The only thing needed would be a clock in the spa itself and maybe a timer for the cold plunge, but other than that, very relaxing. We didn't use the wellness cafe but it looked great. The gym is top quality! A great functional space kitted out by Wolverson. Plenty of equipment for all, Concept2 ergs, two squats racks, bars and bumper plates, dumbbells up to 40kg, adjustable cable machines and more. plenty of floor space. The meal was great with decent options using fresh local produce and a lovely bar area for a drink after. A nice wine mix too. Breakfast was lovely with a cold selection and nice hot breakfast to choose from. Overall a lovely stay a Saltmoore! cannot wait to visit again next year.

Newly opened, Public areas have about as much ambience as a Hospital waiting area , Spa is too busy to be practical with a capacity that is overwhelmed by the demand … imagine spending £200 on massages with no where to sit ! Breakfast service a disaster and room functionality clearly not thought through by a professional hotel designers …. Luxury is of course an opinion but Saltmore simply doesn’t match its aspirational marketing position Will not return 😌

We had the pleasure of spending one night at this renovated hotel, complete with newly access to the spa and breakfast. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The spa area was truly a highlight—an oasis of relaxation. The breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of fresh, high-quality options, and the gym was the perfect way to start our morning. Everything felt pristine, with a delightful newness and impeccable cleanliness throughout. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and professional, ensuring every detail of our stay was seamless. What a wonderful welcome qe received on the first day of Saltmoor Spa. Everyone we met was smiling, polite, accommodating, and welcoming. The Spa was beautiful and left us feeling peaceful, relaxed and pampered. A lovely lunch with careful attention from chef. Well worth every minute and penny. Thank you so much.

A wonderful (dog friendly) hotel. Restaurant is amazing. Every member of staff is friendly and welcoming and location is perfect for trips to Sandsend, Brunswick, Staithes and robin hoods bay

Stayed here for an overnight bed and breakfast stay. Also booked for evening meal. Spa was nice and relaxing. Room was so comfortable and bathroom was good with underfloor heating. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Absolutely no pretentiousness. The evening meal was absolutely lovely. Breakfast the bext day had a good selection of pastries and drinks, and good selection of hot breakfast items. Understand it's getting refurbished between February and August but will be back in September or October to go to the spa and restaurant again!!

The hotel has been more welcoming and offered higher standards in the past. I was treated to a pre Christmas break and among other things was shocked by the sea of mud and ground works at the entrance and along the road to the hotel. Walking to the beach we were forced off the road by a delivery lorry which barely slowed.

The worst bottomless brunch! I've been to many brunches and this was by far the worst I've ever been to. We were told to arrive half an hour before our start time (11.30am), which we did. Upon arrival we were then told that brunch didn't start til 12 - the staff went and checked & realised their error and agreed to serve us at 11.30. We patiently awaited service after perusing menus for half an hour, 11.30 came and went yet no sign of a member of staff. 11.45 I managed to gesture to a team member and requested to order food & drinks. After 3 members of staff gathered around the bar to supervise the tricky procedure of making a bellini (prosecco & syrup), we finally received our first drinks at 12.05. After waiting nearly an hour for one drink, we requested to order another to which we were told that we had to wait for ALL members of the table to finish before we were allowed to order another. THE most ridiculous rule I have ever heard for a BB - if one person were drinking a pint it would take them longer? What if somebody wished to stop drinking? Despite the fact we paid individually we were told by the waitress that she was 'just following rules'. Had she started to prepare the bellinis at that point, I'm sure all of our table would have been finished before they arrived considering they took 20 minutes previously. The waitress continued to mutter under her breath, came across rude and set a very negative atmosphere. I requested to speak to management (after standing at reception for 10 mins saying 'excuse me' to a lady who was far too busy gossiping to acknowledge me. She quickly dismissed me telling me I needed to speak to the restaurant manager, who was the waitress who I had dealt with earlier. I explained that the experience was not what we expected and to cancel our food order. I told her that we were happy to pay for what we had but we didn't want to continue. I explained that 20 minutes was too long to wait for a drink that is 2 ingredients, and I was told that 'they didn't know where the syrups were'. Brilliant. Whist the 'restaurant manager' gained confirmation that we could leave from an 'actual manager', our food arrived. We had already said that we wanted to leave, and despite already being disgruntled we waiting another 10 minutes for the waitress to come back and offer us 'an additional half hour' as compensation. It's a good job we didn't want to continue with the afternoon as our food would have then been cold due to the wait. We paid for our drinks, we were offered no further compensation nor was much acknowledgement of the disaster given. Had the place been full, and staff been busy, I would have understood. However we were the ONLY people in there, and now we know why!!! First & last time going to Raithwaite - really really let down on our Christmas day out!

Beautiful clean new hotel just a foot step away from Whitby! Amazingly beautiful breakfast and awesome dinner! I wish I could stay there longer 😁 and cannot wait to come back there another day!

Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff but an extremely long wait for breakfast especially on one morning. Went earlier the next day and we were served quicker.
